Affton Days – Just Around the Corner!
Affton Days is coming up next weekend - Sep 17th, and the ACFP will be present from 11a-4p with brochures and information to hand out to participants, as well as a barrel at the ready to accept donations. NEW this year – the ACFP will have reusable grocery sacks to give away! The first 100 people to bring 10 items or make a $10 donation to the ACFP will receive a eco-friendly reusable grocery sack, emblazoned with the ACFP logo (limit one per person). Now friends of the ACFP can shop in style AND increase awareness of the Food Pantry’s mission at the same time! Donation Receipts will be available as well – $7 of the donation amount will be tax deductible.

First Annual ACFP Trivia Night! 8/27/2011
When: August 27, 2011
Where: Affton Elks Lodg, 6330 Heege Road
Time: Doors open at 6pm; Trivia starts at 7pm
Cost: $15 per person, tables of 8

ACFP Board Member Loses Battle With Cancer, Gains Heaven
On Friday of last week, the Affton Christian Food Pantry lost one of its own Board Members, Marilyn Sax. The representative from St. Mark Catholic Church, Marilyn served faithfully on the Board for a number of years, having lately become involved with the Volunteer Committee. Our condolences go out to the grieving family, even as we are assured of seeing Marilyn again someday with our Lord in heaven. Marilyn’s obituary follows:
