• 1 in 6 Americans (and 1 in 5 American children) are food insecure, meaning they do not have enough food to eat.
• Here in Affton, MO the problem of food insecurity continues to grow.  In 2012, the Affton Christian Food Pantry provided food for nearly 6,000 people.
• The Affton Christian Food Pantry provides groceries to families who demonstrate a financial need and live in the 63123 area.
• For the past few years, the number of local families needing help has grown every year!

You can help!

When you plan your garden this spring, plant an extra row to donate to your local food pantry, the Affton Christian Food Pantry!  Your fresh produce will be shared with families right here in the 63123 zip code who need food assistance!

What to plant:Foods that don’t require refrigeration keep best in a food pantry environment.  While all produce is welcome, our greatest needs include:

• Tomatoes (pick when slightly under-ripe)                                 
• Green beans
• Squash/Zucchini
• Peppers
• Cucumbers
• Onions
